J. Barry Wood, Practice Group Specialist, Ice Miller
Mr. Wood is currently a tax specialist with Ice Miller using the knowledge and expertise he accumulated as a Township Assessor. He was elected Washington Township Assessor in a May 1996 caucus of precinct committeemen to fill a vacancy in that office. He was subsequently elected to his first four-year term in November 1998.
He served as the Vice President of the Indiana Assessors' Association, and has been a Conference Instructor. He also served on the Steering Committee for the update of the Indianapolis-Marion County Comprehensive Plan, and the Marion County Enhanced Access Board.
A lifelong resident of Indianapolis, Mr. Wood graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. He received his Masters in Business Administration from Butler University. He is a State Tax Board of Commissioner's Level II Certified Assessor-Appraiser (highest level), as well as a Certified Indiana Assessor through the state Assessor's Association. He also holds an Indiana Real Estate Broker's License.
A graduate of the Stanley K. Lacy Executive Leadership Series (1998), Mr. Wood currently serves on the Stanley K. Lacy Leadership Association Board of Directors. He is active in the Washington Township Republican organization as a Ward Chairman. He and his wife and son reside in Washington Township.
